Mediation
I’ve Sat on Both Sides Now I Sit in The Middle

Dear Colleague,
When was the last time you took a closer look at your experiences with local mediators?
Do they consistently take the same approach? Are they resolving your cases?
Accomplished trial lawyers agree that most cases, if they are going to settle prior to trial, will
settle at or near the time of mediation. In that regard, when was the last time you looked at, or
updated, your certified mediator list?
I am pleased to announce that I am now available as a Florida Supreme
Court Certified Mediator, bringing over 30 years of litigation experience and an approach
tailored to the unique circumstances of each case.
I spent the first half of my career as a defense attorney, defending medical malpractice, nursing
home, product liability, premises liability, first-party, and commercial litigation matters. Since
opening my own firm, I have focused predominantly on plaintiffs’ work.
Plaintiff’s counsel and defense counsel can evaluate the same facts, the same testimony, and the
same risk very differently.
I know because I have represented both.
My experience has taught me that understanding the strength of your own argument is important, but
understanding how the other side evaluates that argument can be just as valuable.
As a mediator, I bring the perspective of someone who understands what it means to advocate from
either side of a case, as well as the judgment and flexibility needed to move from advocacy toward
resolution.
Different seat. Same understanding of what is at stake.
I would welcome the opportunity to be considered among your firm’s preferred mediators and to
assist with your upcoming cases. My office is currently scheduling mediations, both in person and
remotely.
I look forward to the opportunity to work together and explore how I can assist you and your clients
in reaching meaningful resolutions.
With much appreciation,
Sarah Steinbaum
